In addition to being the President & Publisher of Wine Enthusiast Media, Strum also founded ThirstyNest. Previously, she worked in running communications and new business development for Wine Enthusiast Companies as well as holding public relations and digital media roles for global brands at Hunter Public Relations, Mission Media and UrbanDaddy. Strum completed an Advanced Degree with Distinction with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and graduated from George Washington University.

Turelli joined the Wine Enthusiast team in 2006. He came from a colorful background of niche and entertainment magazines, and has been essential in successfully launching multiple titles as well as revitalizing creative for flagship magazines during his twenty years in publishing. While Marco was always destined for a career in the visual arts, he discovered a personal passion for wine, food and cooking in his early twenties and has been expanding his palate with reckless abandon ever since.

Originally from Medellin, Colombia, Simon joined Wine Enthusiast in 2016 after establishing herself as a go-to branding design professional for the event and hospitality industries. In addition to her fresh and modern design for the magazine, Simon possesses an acute attention to detail and unmistakable originality. She’s also created a wide range of bold illustrations for the website and the magazine and has inspired us to bust out our color pencils with her enviable interpretation of the site’s adult coloring pages.

Capone began his editorial career at Blue Magazine, wrote listings and dining reviews for New York Magazine and BlackBook, blogged for NBCNewYork, edited two Zagat guides, contributed to the re-re-launch of Radar Magazine and was executive editor at MediaPost before editing Whalebone Magazine. Along the way he’s worked all or part of a few harvests in Northern California, wrote a wine and spirits column for San Francisco Magazine, and worked as marketing manager for the historic Gundlach Bundschu Winery in Sonoma. Reviews wines from California. Briscoe joined Wine Enthusiast in 2022 as senior editor after contributing as a freelance writer for several years. She is the former managing editor for Wine Industry Network and former assistant editor of Wine Business Monthly. She has also written for numerous publications including SevenFifty Daily, Sonoma Magazine, SF Chronicle, among others. Briscoe regularly speaks at wine industry events, has completed her WSET Diploma and now teaches WSET courses. She has her Bachelor of Arts in English-Language Literature from the University of California Santa Cruz and is often found with a book in hand (and a glass of wine in the other). Read more

Prior to joining Wine Enthusiast in 2022, Rachel held staff roles at Delish, Yahoo and The Huffington Post. Originally from the D.C. area, Rachel has been proud to call herself a New Yorker for more than a decade. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two young children. Read more

While relatively new to the wine world, Jesse Reiter's knowledge and passion for photography runs deep. He brings over 15 years of experience in visual production and photo department management to the Wine Enthusiast team, which he joined in 2019. A native of New York City, Reiter enjoys trying new cuisines with his family (and then trying to replicate them at home), spending time in nature and rock climbing. He is now experiencing a new found passion for wine and has been working hard on growing his palate.

Evan graduated with a bachelor's in fine arts in photography from Parsons School of Design.

Hailing from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas, Braxton Parr grew up influenced by video and music production throughout his entire life. He's produced various content for companies such as Nike, Fiverr, TV One, and more. Braxton also had an esteemed role in directing political content for the White House and government officials for several years. Aside from his career in video production, Braxton is a huge foodie and loves to taste wine or create cocktail recipes in his spare time. His career's primary goal is to uplift and inspire others to pursue their dreams with whatever creative medium they see fit.

Most recently, Rob has worked as a producer on the Howard Stern Behind the Scenes Show and has directed music videos for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist, DMC of Run DMC fame.

Reviews wines from Burgundy and Rhône, France. Cabrales comes from a well-rounded wine career that includes corporate world savviness, restaurant experience and social media entrepreneurship. She was Director of Education at Independence Wine & Spirits, a fine wine importer of Taub Family Selections; GM & Wine Director of Morrell Wine Bar; Project Manager in investor relations for Business Wire. She believes in mentorship and community and is a mentor for Wine Unify and Bâtonnage Forum and founder of Sommation, which promotes inclusion and conversation around all topics surrounding wine. Cabrales graduated with a culinary and sommelier diploma from The French Culinary Institute and a bachelor’s in economics and East Asian studies with a minor in psychology from Rutgers University-Douglass College. Reviews wines from California. Having Joined Wine Enthusiast in 2014, Jim Gordon reviews wines from Sonoma and Napa. Gordon was the editor of Wines & Vines for 12 years and is the former executive director of the Symposium for Professional Wine Writers in Napa Valley. He was editor in chief for two books, James Beard Award-finalist Opus Vino, and 1000 Great Everyday Wines. He is the former managing editor of Wine Spectator and former editor in chief of Wine Country Living magazine, for whom he helped create Wine Country Living TV with KNTV in San Francisco. He lives in Napa Valley where he writes, cooks, gardens and is an amateur winemaker. Read more

Coming from an extensive background in the hospitality industry, Chamberlain joined Wine Enthusiast's Tasting & Review department in 2017. Russell Peborde comes to Wine Enthusiast by way of wine retail, after spending the previous eleven years in nonprofit film education. With a background in photography and film production, he’s an avid cinemagoer and art lover. He can be found seasonally working in his tomato garden, and grilling year round. Russell is excited to continue exploring a burgeoning zeal for wine and spirits.

Wexler comes to Wine Enthusiast with a background in wine retail and tech support. An avid traveler, he's visited wineries in Walla Walla, the Willamette Valley, Napa and Portugal. Wexler has also completed Level 2 Certification through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Beyond wine, his other hobbies include board games, snowboarding, soccer and cooking.

Estrella joined Wine Enthusiast in 2016 and manages all aspects of the magazine’s social media program.  Originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Estrella developed a love of wine while living in California and continued to develop her wine knowledge working in wine bars, eventually completing her Level 2 Certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). She has a background in graphic design, a penchant for quirky coffee shops and never turns down a glass of bubbly.

A fifth-generation Californian originally from San Jose, Kettmann is a senior editor for The Santa Barbara Independent, the weekly newspaper/daily website where he started his journalism career in 1999 after graduating from UC-Santa Barbara with an anthropology degree. He's reported on wine and more for for the New York Times, Time Magazine and Wine Spectator, among other publications. He is the author of Vines & Visions: The Winemakers of Santa Barbara County, a 632-page profile of the region, and is currently updating the Southern California chapter for The Oxford Companion to Wine. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of French and Italian at Dartmouth College and Councilor of the Dante Society of America. Dr. Callegari’s teaching and research focus on premodern Italian literature and food and beverage studies. She has published on a variety of subjects including Dante, early modern women’s writing and religion, and Italian food and politics from the premodern to the contemporary. Her first monograph, “Dante’s Gluttons: Food and Society from the Convivio to the Comedy,” was published in 2022. Jeff Porter joins the Wine Enthusiast tasting team as the second new taster for Italy and covers wines for Piedmont, Veneto, Northeast Italy, Lombardy, Northwest Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, and Umbria. His sommelier career began in Napa Valley working at Tra Vigne Ristorante. He joined the Bastianich Hospitality Group in 2009 at Osteria Mozza under the auspice of James Beard Award-winning chef Nancy Silverton. Porter then served as the Wine Director at Del Posto Ristorante in NYC and grew to be the Beverage Operations Director for the company. In 2019, he filmed a travel docuseries, "Sip Trip" and began a consulting business. Helping clients create beverage lists and elevate service standards, Porter’s roster includes Hometown BBQ, Red Hook Tavern, the ecoresort Casa di Langa in the Langhe region of Piedmont, and the Barclays Center, home to the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty.

Although she is new to the wine world, Kalaher loves the challenge of this evolving category and meeting people from all over the world.

Termine joined Wine Enthusiast in 2021. She collaborates with spirit and beer clients, helping them advertise their products that were tasted and reviewed for our buying guide.
